Description

Masahiro MV 137_1102 knife set

Masahiro set in a decorative package, consisting of MV series knives: Chef 210 mm and Utility 120 mm. The Chef's knife is the most popular and frequently used knife for kitchen work and is often complemented by utility knives, which are a smaller version of it. Everything is packed in a beautiful box, creating a perfect gift set.

The characteristic shape of the Chef's knife, originating from French cuisine, is used for many kitchen tasks, and the name Chef's knife emphasizes that it is an indispensable tool for every chef. The knife is very light, and the handle fits securely in both small and large hands. Due to the perfect balance of the blade and handle, it allows for a rhythmic, very efficient, rocking motion on the surface when slicing or dicing various products.

Utility is a versatile knife, which is a smaller version of the chef's knife. Due to its universal use, it is suitable wherever a chef's knife is too large, making it an indispensable element of kitchen equipment. A smaller version of this knife can also be successfully used for peeling.

MV series knives are made of molybdenum-vanadium, high-carbon stainless steel, called MBS-26, which has been hardened in three stages until it reaches a hardness of 58-59 HRC. Each blade has been refined by masters with over 30 years of experience, making Masahiro knives incredibly sharp.

The handle, with antibacterial properties, is made of laminated wood, called Black Pakkawood, whose many layers have been pressed under high pressure and high temperature into a solid, very durable, moisture and water-resistant material. The wooden handle is secured with three perfectly placed and polished rivets, and an additional metal reinforcement is used between it and the blade.

The knives in this series are sharpened on two sides, but unlike most Western manufacturers, Masahiro sharpens them asymmetrically 80/20. This means that the cutting edge is shifted to one side of the knife's axis. The advantages of asymmetrical sharpening are a cutting edge that is up to 35% thinner than a symmetrical blade, making it much sharper.
