Masahiro MV-L 141_1123 Knife Set

Masahiro set in a decorative package, consisting of two MV-L series knives: Chef 210mm and Santoku 175mm. The Chef's knife and Santoku are two of the most popular and frequently used kitchen tools, and the set is complemented by a small peeler for processing smaller products. Everything is packed in a beautiful box, creating a perfect gift set.

The characteristic shape of the chef's knife, originating from French cuisine, is used for many kitchen tasks, and the name "chef's knife" emphasizes that it is an indispensable tool for every cook. The knife is very light, and the handle fits securely in both small and large hands. Due to the perfect balance of the blade and handle, it allows for a rhythmic, highly effective, rocking motion on the surface when slicing or chopping various products.

Santoku is a traditional Japanese knife, often referred to as the equivalent of a Western chef's knife. The Japanese name for this very popular knife means "three virtues" or "three excellences." This means that this knife, resembling a combination of a chef's knife and a cleaver in appearance, is very suitable for slicing, dicing, and chopping.

MV-L  is the latest group of knives produced by Masahiro, and its prototype is the BWH series.  Molybdenum-vanadium, high-carbon stainless steel MBS-26 was also used for production, which was hardened in three stages until it reached a hardness of 58-59  HRC. Like every knife from the Masahiro factory, it has been perfected by craftsmen with over 30 years of experience.

The handle is made of wood called Black Pakkawood, whose many layers were compressed under high pressure and temperature into a uniform, very durable, moisture and water-resistant material. Compared to the BWH series, MV-L handles are rounder and smaller in volume, adapted for users with medium and small hands. The wooden handle with an antibacterial coating is as easy to clean as plastic and is secured with three perfectly placed and polished rivets.

Another difference between the MV-L and BWH series is slightly thinner blades, which will make it easier to cut sliced products. The difference in blade and handle thickness also
