Description
Masahiro MV-S 136_112302_BB Knife Set
Masahiro set in a decorative package, consisting of MV-S series knives: Chef 210 mm, Santoku 175 mm, and Utility 120 mm. The Chef's knife and Santoku are two of the most popular and frequently used kitchen tools, complemented by the versatile Utility knife for processing smaller items. Everything is packed in a beautiful box, creating a perfect gift set.
The characteristic shape of the chef's knife, originating from French cuisine, is used for many kitchen tasks, and the name "chef's knife" emphasizes that it is an indispensable tool for every cook. The knife is very light, and the handle fits securely in both small and large hands. The perfect balance between the blade and the handle allows for a rhythmic, highly effective, rocking motion across the surface when slicing or dicing various products.
Santoku is a traditional Japanese knife, often referred to as the Western equivalent of a chef's knife. The Japanese name for this very popular knife means "three virtues" or "three advantages." This implies that this knife, resembling a combination of a chef's knife and a cleaver in appearance, is highly suitable for slicing, dicing, and chopping.
Utility is a versatile knife, which is a smaller version of the chef's knife. Due to its universal use, it is suitable wherever a chef's knife is too large, making it an indispensable element of kitchen equipment. The smaller version of this knife can also be successfully used for peeling.
MV-S series knives are made from molybdenum-vanadium, high-carbon stainless steel, known as MBS-26, which has been hardened in three stages until it reaches a hardness of 58-59 HRC. Each blade has been refined by masters with over 30 years of experience, making Masahiro knives incredibly sharp.
The characteristic handle, made of high-quality stainless steel, possesses antibacterial properties and is very easy to clean. Special perforations on the handle make it extremely secure and ensure excellent blade control. The integrated handle with the blade forms a very strong and durable structure with a stunning appearance.
Knives in this series are sharpened on both sides, but unlike most Western manufacturers, Masahiro sharpens them asymmetrically 80/20. This means that the cutting edge is shifted to one side of the knife's axis. The advantages of asymmetrical sharpening include a cutting edge that is up to 35% thinner than a symmetrical blade, making it much sharper.
