Description
SHAPTON 50302 Water Sharpening Stone, Grit 2000
A fantastic series of SHAPTON brand sharpening stones, where the abrasive layer is combined with a specially prepared layer of tempered glass that stabilizes the entire stone. The glass features a full description of the gradation, grit thickness, and catalog number, allowing you to use the entire abrasive layer without worrying about identifying the stone. The excellent combination of glass and abrasive allows the grinding surface to be utilized down to the last millimeter, without fear of the stone chipping.
The unique structure of Glass Stone series stones with very high grit allows for extremely effective sharpening of any knife. This also contributes to the stone's durability, as it wears down exceptionally slowly and only occasionally requires flattening. The Glass Stone series stones are among the hardest on the market.
When using SHAPTON stones for the first time, soak them in water for about 6 minutes. The specially developed "Splash&Go" technology prevents the stone from absorbing too much water. This allows you to generously spray the stone with water when sharpening knives again, without the need for prolonged re-soaking.
