The MU Bamboo knife collection was created by the Italian design duo: Nunzia Paola Carallo and Jacopo Romano Grandis, who operate in the design world under the brand Carallo-Grandis. These knives are highly recommended by Pietro Leemann, chef and owner of the excellent Milanese restaurant Joia.
MU BAMBOO knives are made using the highest quality Japanese so-called molybdenum-vanadium stainless steel, hardened to 58 HRC. Their handles are made of Japanese bamboo, carbonized for strength. The use of this material for the handle is a kind of tribute that the designers pay to Japanese nature – after all, bamboo is common in the Land of the Rising Sun.
The MU BAMBOO series was inspired by modern fusion cuisine, which is why Carallo-Grandis included both knives typical for European cuisine and classic Japanese knives such as Santoku, Deba, Usuba, and Sashimi. The entire collection is a perfect combination of Italian design and Japanese quality.
