Suncraft SENZO CLASSIC Chef's Knife 200mm SZ-05

A chef's knife is the most well-known and frequently used blade in food preparation. It is characterized by a rounded, wide, and long blade. Due to its design, it is convenient for both slicing and chopping. When working with this knife, the chef performs rhythmic, rocking motions.

SENZO CLASSIC line, rich in products, combines the best features of Eastern and Western knife-making philosophies. The shapes and purpose of the knives are mostly Western, while the craftsmanship and design are Eastern. The series includes knives with different blades and weights, as required by Western culture for kitchen tools. The simple yet refined SENZO CLASSIC line design maintains a Japanese spirit.

SENZO CLASSIC knife blades are made from 33 layers of stainless steel. Damasko plienas * reinforced with a VG-10 steel core **. This composition is extremely durable, and the blade itself is resistant to wear and dulling. A close-up reveals a subtle, wavy pattern reminiscent of samurai swords.

SENZO CLASSIC knives feature a very sophisticated design. The handle surface, made of so-called Pakkawood *** in black, has no rivets, making it exceptionally elegant. A red ring at the base of the blade draws attention, and the " Tsuchime " blade forging not only looks impressive – it also ensures that cut products do not stick to the knife and easily slide off the blade.

* Damasko plienas  – modern so-called Damascus steel consists of extremely thin stainless steel sheets stacked one on top of another, where the middle 25% of the sheets are called the core, and the remaining 75% consist of sheets of different hardness – alternating layers of soft and hard steel. This creates a "wavy" effect on the knife's surface.

** VG-10 plienas, this type of steel was considered one of the best for manufacturing kitchen knives. Chefs appreciate both the beautiful design of VG-10 knives and their exceptional durability. VG-10 is a high-hardness material, with an HRC value of HRC 60 on the HRC scale. As a result, knives made from it are incredibly sharp and highly resistant to abrasion.

***Pakkawood – is a composite material made from wood veneers and resin, compressed under high pressure. It is resistant to moisture and temperature fluctuations, making it an ideal material for knife handles.
