Suncraft SENZO UNIVERSAL Gyuto Kitchen Knife 180mm FT-02
The Gyuto is the equivalent of a European chef's knife. Professional chefs use this type of knife most often. It's no wonder that its characteristic shape, with a rather long and wide blade ending in a clear arc, is perfectly suited for working with most products and allows for the use of most cutting techniques. From mincing and chopping to slicing and dicing. These features make it a knife that should be in every kitchen.
The SENZO Universal knife line was created with the needs of professional chefs, especially European ones, in mind, as reported by SUNCRAFT. They are accustomed to certain characteristics of knives used until now. Chefs from many Old Continent restaurants contributed to the creation of a special SENZO product series – with full tang blades, fitted into the handle with rivets. Thanks to this construction, the knife is very well balanced and holds firmly in the hand, and most importantly – it is extremely durable. Suncraft SENZO UNIVERSAL uses the best Western world patterns, and additionally, due to the use of 33 layers of steel, the so-called Damascus*, with a core of VG-10 steel**, knives in this series are exceptionally durable, and their blades are resistant to wear. The "wavy" effect visible in a close-up of the blade is associated with samurai swords. The forged pattern not only looks attractive but also prevents cut products from sticking to the blade. Like other SUNCRAFT SENZO knives, the handles of the UNIVERSAL line are made of brown Pakkawood ***, which is extremely resistant to kitchen conditions.
* Damascus steel – modern so-called Damascus steel consists of superimposed ultra-thin stainless steel sheets, of which the middle 25% of the sheets are called the core, and the remaining 75% consist of sheets of different hardness – alternating layers of soft and hard steel. As a result, a "wavy" effect is created on the surface of the knife.
**VG-10 steel, this type of steel was considered the best for kitchen knife production. Chefs appreciate both the beautiful design of VG-10 knives and their exceptional durability. VG-10 is a high-hardness material, with a value of HRC 60 on the HRC scale. For this reason, knives made from it are extremely sharp and highly resistant to abrasion.
***Pakkawood – it is laminated birch wood.
